Abstract:
The present Teacher Education Curriculum at the Secondary Stage is generally based upon
the Frame Work brought out by the NCTE in 1978 and subsequently revised in 1988. The
development and changes over the last two decades require a fresh look at the curriculum.
’Hius for a long time it has been felt that the existing Teacher Education Curriculum for the
secondary stage should be revised as the present one year B.Ed programme does not meet
the professional requirements of secondary school teachers. In view of the increasing
challenges in the field of teacher education and the development that have taken place in the
society. In general, and the secondary school system, in particular, it needs to be replaced by
a programme which is more rigorous and comprehensive and fulfils the present day
requirements and aspirations.
Description:
'rhe two year degree course in education provided by the Regional Institute of Education,
Bhopal shall lead to the degree of Two Year B.Ed. (Secondary). This degree course shall
consist of two academic years, there being an examination at the end of each such year
known as Part-I and Part-II.
A candidate shall be eligible to appear for the Two Year B.Ed. (Part I) examination if
i. He / She has passed — B.A/B .Sc. degree of a recognized University.
ii. (a) A candidate who has passed any other examination recognized as
equivalent there to by the University for this purpose, and who has
attended a regular course of study for one academic year in the Regional
Institute of Education, Bhopal shall also be eligible for appearing at the
B.Ed. Part-I Examination.
(b) A candidate who, after passing the B.Ed. Part-I Examination of the
University has attended a regular course of study for one year in the
Regional Institute of Education, Bhopal, shall be eligible to present
himselfTherself at the B.Ed. Part-II Examination.
