Environmental education for sustainable development is a permanent venture which challenges individuals, institutions and governments to view future as a day that belongs to all of us. Environmental education for sustainability is a concept encircling a vision of education that seeks to authorize people of all groups of ages to assume responsibility for creating a sustainable future. There are many debate about approaches for sustainable development, there are universal support to provide improved educational opportunities for students that allows them to develop valuable life skills such as communication and critical thinking. The importance of providing students with opportunities to develop these skills is seen as a valuable component in educational reform. By developing a curriculum that stresses interaction and inquiry with the human and natural resources of a community, it is possible to develop the skills students will need to address future concerns. Environmental education that focuses on these community resources can contribute to the essential variables of increased student ownership and empowerment in the learning process, which are important to student skills achievement. This paper review the historical development of environmental education for sustainable development to suggests relation between environmental education and sustainable development, which can be seen in technology education policies and practices. |
