Education is not only essential for the harmonious development of one’s personality. But also for the sustained growth of the nation. Elementary education in India, therefore is the foundation on which the development of every citizen and the nation as a hinges. Elementary education is the first stage of compulsory education. It is preceded by pre-school or nursery education and is followed by secondary education. Since independence, the central and state government has been expanding the provision of primary formal and non- formal education to realize the goal of Uni versalisation of Elementary Education. Universalisation of Elementary Education is still a distant prospect substantial part of the World and India no exception to this. Which direction the Central government and the State government, Institutions and other organizations have been doing a lot for the progress of elementary education. However, the achievement which direction is far away from the goal set for universalisation of elementary education |
