dc.description.abstract The way modern libraries have been growing with innovative contents and new Information Technologies their users require to get trained for exploring the resources and make effective use of those resources. The traditional printed books, journals, magazines, etc. have been replaced with digital/on-line study materials. At the level of College the information services from library percolates through its teachers to the students while transacting in classrooms. Enabling the teachers with the skills used in modern libraries would definitely help them integrating the ICT and computer enabled study materials in classroom transactions. Secondly, a teacher acts as librarian in the classroom for motivating the students to use library for enrichment of their knowledge level. The areas on which training to teachers in imminent are like – e-books, e-journals, e-zines, Interactive websites, Library Automation, Inclusive Education Open Access materials, e-Pathashala, NROER, National Digital Library, RFID and enormous other materials. The proposed training was designed keeping the above points in mind and accordingly the Librarians of DIETs in Gujarat were provided practical training in different areas of a modern library. en_US
