dc.description.abstract The field of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is more vibrant than ever. There are much research in progress on the infusion and integration of content of ESD into wide range of subject areas and pedagogical practices. As textbook is the only accessible and affordable primary instrument for most of the school going children and their teachers in India, textbook researches must be encouraged. For ESD, textbook content must reflect economic, social and environmental diversity to ensure classroom equity. There is an acute demand for incorporation of principles, perspectives and values related to sustainability in variety of school subject’s textbooks. en_US
