Abstract:
The idea of sustainable development is becoming a reality through efforts of educational understanding. The emphasis on education for sustainable development is increasing because of global development crisis and its rippling effects. It is the need of the hour to correct the course of modern developmental process through educating young generation. Ethical values present a good opportunity for sustainable development through education. This article explores the issues, problems and challenges of integrating sustainable development in the environmental education in the 21st century.
