Abstract:
It has been famous in our country since ancient times that the characteristics of food, sleep, fear, pleasure etc. are found equally in animals and humans. But education and knowledge are the only characteristics that make a human being a human being. Hence it is clear that education is very essential for the meaningfulness of human life.
Kaka Saheb Kalelkar, explaining education in his ornate Gujarati language, writes:
"Education says, I am not a science, not a slave of power, not a slave of any scripture, but I am the mistress of human heart, intellect and other holistic powers. Anthropology and sociology are my two stages. Art and skill are my hands, science It is my brain, religion is my heart, observation and logic are my eyes, history is my ears, freedom is my breath, enthusiasm and industry are my lungs, patience is my fast, faith is my capital. I am Jagadamba who fulfills all the wishes. I am Shiksha Jagadamba in the true sense."
Thus, education is an essential part of all our lives. The importance of education is increasing day by day. The word 'education' is derived from the Sanskrit root 'shiksha'. Education means learning. The process of learning continues from birth till death of the child. Education is a lifelong process through which a person's physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual development takes place in a interactive manner. As a result, a person adapts himself to the environment and makes his life successful and brings changes and improvements in his behaviour. Due to which the individual, caste, nation and the world all benefit.
