dc.description.abstract Constructivist teaching is based on the belief that learning occurs as learners are actively involved in a process of meaning and knowledge construction rather than passively receiving information. Learners are the makers of meaning and knowledge. Constructivist teaching fosters critical thinking and creates motivated and independent learners. In constructivism there are many types of models. The present study the research er has focused on ICON model, which reflects how cognitive psycholo gy, technology and construc tivism can be integrated into instructi onal activities. The ICON model has seven steps which are observat ion, Interpret ation contextualization, cognitiv e apprenticeship, construc tion, collabor ation, Interpret ation construction, multiple interpretation, multiple manifest ation. These steps help the learner to construc t their own knowledge. As the science subject requires ability of keen observat ion , critical thinking, problem solving and multiple interpret ation etc. The researcher feels that this method helps the learner in developi ng those qualities. en_US
