Abstract: The foundation of the holistic development of any nation lies in its education system. In a multilingual and multicultural country like India, the effectiveness of education largely depends on the quality of language instruction. Education provided at the primary level plays a crucial role in the intellectual, moral, and cultural development of children. The purpose of primary education is not only to teach literacy but also to foster an interest in language among children and develop their capacity for creative thinking. In the teaching of the mother tongue, children’s literature serves as an effective tool.
