dc.description.abstractInformation and Communication Technology (ICT) is a force that has changed many aspects of the way we live. If one was to compare such field as medicine, tourism, travel, business, law, banking, engineering and architecture, the impact of ICT across the past two or three decades has been enormous. The way these fields operate today is vastly different from the ways they operated in the past. Similarly there is no doubt that ICT brings a massive change in the field of education also. It makes teaching- learning process effective and interesting. The National Curriculum Framework (NCF-2005) also highlighting the importance of ICT in school education. Education is a very socially oriented activity and quality education has traditionally been associated with strong teachers having high degree of personal contact with learners. The use of ICT in education lends itself to more students centered learning setting. But with the world moving into digital media and information, the role of ICT in education is becoming more and more important. So integrating ICT in education means using the technology in the field of education for quality enhancement of teaching and learning. This paper focuses on role of ICT for quality enhancement of education and also emphasis on advantages of ICT and its challenges.en_US
