Abstract: According to Radhakrishnan (1996), the place of teacher in the society is very important. It is the center of transmission of intellectual traditions and technical skills from one generation to the next and helps in keeping the light of development of civilization burning. Therefore, the interest of any nation depends on the interest of the teachers of that nation. A teacher educates thousands of students in his lifetime, hence the teacher is the guardian of our future and hence paying any attention towards the teacher is paying attention towards our future. It is undeniable that among all the things that affect the level of education and the contribution of education in national development, the qualities of teachers, their ability and their character are the most important, hence it is necessary to have qualified teachers and provide them with the best professional resources. and create satisfactory conditions in which they can be effective and can work properly. National Education Commission (1966-67) has said - For qualitative improvement in education, it is essential that there should be a proper teaching program for teaching subject quality among teachers. The return on expenditure on teacher training will indeed be very valuable because of the improvement it will bring to the education of millions of students. In comparison, the amount of economic expenditure will be very less. 'Ultimately, in the analysis, the efficiency of the education system depends on the quality of the teachers, even if there is a good education system, in the absence of good teachers, the failure of the education system is inevitable. Even a faulty education system can be highly successful in the presence of a good teacher. Therefore, it is essential that in order to attract and retain the right kind of men and women in the teaching profession, they should be given the necessary training to enhance their capabilities and create such conditions that will keep them enthusiastic about the work throughout their professional lives.
