Abstract: Education policy consists of a collection of principles and government policies in the educational sector as well as laws and regulations governing the operation of education systems. Education is divided into many forms to fulfill many objectives through many institutions. Examples include early childhood education, kindergarten through 12th grade, two- and four-year colleges or universities, graduate and professional education, adult education, and job training. Therefore, education policy directly facilitates the education of people of all ages.The National Policy on Education (NPE) is a policy formulated by the Government of India to promote and regulate education in India. The policy covers primary education to higher education in both rural and urban India.Committee reports related to the education sector continue to be made from time to time and education policies are also amended and improved from time to time as per the need. Some of them are as follows.The first modern Indian education policy was the Charter Act 1813, followed by the Despatch Policy of 1854, Lord Curzon's policy in 1904, Foster's Act in England in 1870, Hardog Committee in 1928, Basic Education in April 1935.
