The education given in the initial stage of child development is called Early Childhood Education (ECE). This education is provided to children before formal primary education. Therefore it is also called pre-primary education. The progress of any nation depends on the social health and education of the people of that nation. According to psychologists, the rate of development of children is highest in the first 6 years of life. For the universalization of education and for the all-round development of children, child education and health education have been considered important in the National Education Policy 1986. Since then, many ECC programs have been launched by government and voluntary organizations in the field of Early Child Care Education (ECCE). E. centers have been opened and started. In order to implement children's development programs and schemes, the Central Social Welfare Department was first established in 1953. Under its scheme, optional institutions came forward in the field of elementary education in urban areas and Mahila Mandal and Balwadi, Anganwadi programs were started in rural areas. After this, the National Education Policy for children was adopted in 1974, as a result of which the Integrated Child Development Service Scheme was started in 1975. Under this scheme, programs for the development and education of children were determined and early childhood education was developed. High quality pre-primary education prepares children for life ahead.en_US
