Abstract: | The structure of any society consists of many elements. The most important factor to understand the many geographical, historical, cultural, religious, political, philosophical and linguistic factors on the entire social system is education. Education is the only factor which provides a meaningful means to human life by imbuing the human being with the necessary knowledge, consciousness and faith in order to build any society and nation. Education is the overall means of human resource development. Education is developed by the society. Besides, education also gives definite shape to the structure of the society. As an effective social force, education has to perform two important functions. Social adjustment and social change. Education performs the first function by preserving socio-cultural values and the second function is performed by giving birth to such powers and ideas which have the potential for social change. |
