dc.description.abstractThe emergence of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education has transformed teaching and learning to a more viable and effective method and would likely set the standard for the future interactivity in education and learning techniques brought about by the new technology has created a whole new learning environment and transformed the relationship among teachers and the learners. This paper outlines the importance of information and communication technology (ICT) in Education for Sustainable Development. Sustainable development is the overarching paradigm of the United Nations The concept of sustainable development was described by the 1987 Bruntland Commission Report as “development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”. ICT in Education for sustainable development represents a catalytic process for social change that seeks to foster through education training and public awareness-the values, behaviours and lifestyles required for sustainable future. This paper focuses on the current uses, trends & challenges in using ICT in Education for Sustainable Development.en_US
